#13 - The Food-tastic start to November

Hey yay, it's November! Favourite time of the year by default cause it's my birthday month LOL.

Started the 1st of November by munching at The Book Cafe which is like my dream sanctuary where I am immersed in books and comfy sofa all day. Sadly it's located so darn far away from my house and you have to walk a distance from Clarke Quay MRT before reaching it. But the hike before and after eating was good in making me hungry and digesting the scrumptious brunch I had.

Had the Egg's Blackstone which is a variation of Egg's Benedict. You can never go wrong with Egg's Benedict because it's like this combination of proteins from the slurpy egg and carbohydrates from the soft delicious muffin which is quite a balanced diet that would keep you feeling full for half the day. I think the only difference between my Egg's Blackstone was the massive juicy grilled tomato stacked with the rest of the wonders. Just two stacks of those and it got me feeling full. Paired mine with sausage cause I got greedy. Enjoyed the drink with Hot Lemon Tea which was a nice change from the usual iced one. It kind of settles the food in your stomach which is a nice feeling but it also sends you straight to a food coma and having the soft sofa underneath you is just not a good idea for avoiding that coma. Zzzz

Overall it was a nice place with the right ambiance especially if you visited it before the lunch and evening crowd. Although it was because of a slaving reason that I was brought to this place, nonetheless it was worth it. And if you ever go there don't forget to try their Traditional Apple Pie! It was goooooood. Eat it when it's warm and the taste is just perfect. Kinda hungry now :O

Apologies for the poor quality photos. The area with the sofa isn't really bright as compared to the eating area and because the sky was looming with dark clouds hence the even poorer lighting!

Just two days later, I had another chance of enjoying good food in a nice ambiance and this time is The Coastal Settlement (FINALLY!) It is FOREVER good to have a friend that drives AND has a car. This place is so out that unless you are determined, you wouldn't exactly travel here just to enjoy the place. It was a nice get together with the committee of Student Camp and it was funny how it became a almost full committee lunch from just an innocent all girls outing. End up everything was pre-planned to surprise me for my upcoming birthday and also YS who's birthday was just 10 days away from mine. Extremely touched cause this is the first time I am celebrating my birthday with this bunch of people who has become my family.
Love you all many, many ♥♥ And you guys are not forgiven for lying to me!! HAHAHAHAHA!

The Coastal Settlement is by far the nicest designed place I've been. Every detail is so well thought of. From the chairs to the wall designs to the ceiling and even the outdoor areas and the toilet. They really made sure every part of that place is designed with things from the olden days. It's like as if someone turned the clock back in this place and left it in the 50s to 70s. I think the place would look equally magical if you visited it at night! Waiting for another opportunity to visit this in the evening to enjoy the desserts and drinks.

I love how the outdoor area looks just like a garden party!

Mandatory toilet shot.

LOOK AT ALL THESE COLORS AND RIDES.

Self proclaimed 美女 (pretty girl) who is also our driver :P

Happy early birthday to us!

We ordered just 5 main dishes for the 8 of us but it was still too much to handle! The portions are really huge so think twice before ordering one main course for just one person! Unless you can eat a dinosaur then, okay, order away!

Thanks for the cake guys! There is always room for dessert. Especially if it's a chocolate cake.

Just about some of the design in the place. This place is really worth a visit!

So yup that was a great start to November and today is already the 4th day into the month! Time flies really quickly! Gonna embrace this November and hopefully to more food adventures, laughter and time well spent with people I love (:
