First up, Wimbly Lu!
I never knew Wimbly Lu was just a five minutes walked from my previous school (Nanyang JC)! Saw many other interesting cafes nearby, shall give them a try the next time! I was quite critical when I entered and tried the desserts at Wimbly Lu because I've heard so many comments about how amazing it was and to me the more amazing it is, the more disappointed you will get when you really try it. So, when I ordered the famous Root Beer Cake, Waffles with Ice Cream of your choice (We chose Rum&Rasins) and lastly Molten Lava Cake, I was really skeptical of how it would taste like.
Root Beer Cake
I'm not a fan of Root Beer but this cake was surprisingly good. The essence of the chocolate was enough to balance out the taste of the Root Beer ensuring that it wasn't too overpowering and of course having vanilla ice cream paired with it basically lightens the taste of both the Root Beer and the chocolate. The texture of the cake was really nice too, sticky enough and it doesn't disintegrate into crumbs like how some cakes do.
Waffles with Rum&Raisin Scoop
The waffles is just simply The Best waffles I've ever tasted. Before I tasted this I've always loved Prima Deli's waffles because it was just so soft and sweet but this waffle, it was just the epitome of how all waffles should taste like. Cripsy at the sides but soft on the inside. How do they do it?!? I was most critical about the waffles but seriously, it is worth every single compliment it received.
Molten Lava
Needless to say, this was just magical. Still can't figure how the pastry chef managed to bake just the top while keeping the insides all soft and flowing with chocolate liquid. The small cup of chocolate was just right for the three of us and I think if you tried to conquer this on our own, you will end up feeling so diabetic.
We shared the desserts among us three and I have to say it was just enough sweetness to last us the whole day. Of course we had to order fries because we saw how cute it came in. Seriously, fries in a dim sum tray? And because we were still hungry and needed food to cleanse the taste of all those chocolate wonders. The fries tasted alright, nothing special but then again a place that specialises in desserts shouldn't really invest time in making tasty fries #justsaying

We also took the time to write down a list of other food places that we want to try out and I'm so excited for our next food adventure! :D With these two, its also eat and eat some more along with the laughing and stalking people on Instagram. #throwbackone
